“Please Leave” Game Treatment

Please Leave is a friendly game about ghosts. The player works their way through a haunted house, removing its spectral guests so to make the building habitable for humans. The player neutralizes the ghosts by completing puzzles that fulfil their unfinished business.

I don’t have a lot of gaming experience, so it was quite the endeavour to conceptualize a game from the ground up and write a treatment for it. All in all, I don’t think it was too shabby, and apparently others agree since it’s being displayed here.

I love horror/supernatural tropes but am not interested in scary storylines or combative gameplay. Instead, I imagined a game wherein the goal was not to defeat enemies in battle, but to neutralize them by helping solve their problems. Ghosts are people, too, you know! They all deserve a little compassion.
