I will be exploring the technical and conceptual convergence of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs or drones), interaction design, and media architecture. My research will look at the limitations of UAV’s within the context of architectural intervention, adaption for public space, and as form of data visualization. My final project will be an information-driven installation using UAVs designed to visualize real-time biodiversity data collected within the Lethbridge area. The result I hope to achieve with this work is to explore the possibilities of UAVs within the context of an interactive installation driven by user data gathered through public engagement with the local environment.
