Current Project

Fortune Teller is an interactive installation which makes use of brainwave-sensing technology to playfully interrogate the resonance between these contemporary neurological devices and earlier technologies and practices such as mesmerism, hypnotism, and telepathy which interwove science and magic.


Originally from Winnipeg, Dr Cooley has studied and taught in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Upcoming publications include the monograph the art of getting lost: Walter Benjamin and an architecture of cinema.
