This is my submission for an After Effects motion design assignment titled “Explain it Like I’m Five”, which required students to create a short, engaging “explainer” video using fundamental techniques such as shape layers, effects, masks, kinetic typography, and keyframe animation. Each project should explain an everyday task in a way that is clear, concise, and easily understandable, as if you were explaining it to a five-year-old. I chose the process of making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich as my subject. To add more comedy and silliness, I included the additional element of avoiding attack by PB&J-loving birds.
