The project’s goal was to design a mockup of a functional website for a fictional coffee-roasting company using Figma, a website designing tool. The design requirements called for the incorporation of the company’s products and materials. Other things to include were a podcasting segment to discuss coffee, industry and coffee-related topics. Another inclusion was a store where customers may purchase things and their variations.   The mockup was designed with a clean and minimalistic approach in mind, using magazine-esque design elements including large and bright high-definition photos and bold serif and sans-serif typefaces. The following are some of the greatest suggestions for creating a straightforward and minimalist website that the project’s designers took into consideration:

  1. Make use of whitespace to stand out.
Throughout the mockup, whitespaces were utilized to direct the attention of the users to the content.
  2. Limit the colour
Two-toned (i.e., black and white) or peaceful colours were used throughout the presentation to make it easy on the viewers’ eyes, as can be seen in the prototype design.
  3. Experiment with different fonts
Serif fonts were used for navbars, content details, etc. on the design mockup while serif fonts were used for headers or titles, making sure the fonts were likewise legible and straightforward.
