Lenses is a sculpture piece that incorporates projection mapping and techniques to trick the eye. It consists of multiple frames that feature a unique mirror system that creates an illusion of an unending space within; it creates the “mirror within a mirror” effect but allows the audience to view it from an outside angle. The projected material is inserted into each frame as if they were moving family photos, and each frame highlights a major stage in life. The conceptual basis of this is that we perceive our lives in concise events, only picking out highlights that we believe are important. But in reality, our lives are a constant stream of events that are filled with depth that we should learn to appreciate.
