The concept of building trust explores a deeper understanding of relationships and interconnections between organisms. The way the user interacts with the plant affects the digital threshold of the “trust value” and affects its response towards the user. By interacting with the plant we are gradually gaining its trust through positive and friendly actions. The plant will wiggle, make a happy noise, and the light on top will turn on when it is happy. Actions such as putting the hand over top of the plant will return a negative response where the plant will move away from the user and and make an unhappy sound. The affordances of fabrics and symbols will indicate interactive parts of the design where the sensors are placed. When the plant completely trusts the user, it will begin dancing happily and playing a song.
